PSV Vs Feyenoord Prediction And Betting Tips

On Sunday evening, two of the Netherlands’ premier football clubs will clash at the Philips Stadion to vie for the Dutch Super Cup.

PSV Eindhoven, last season’s Eredivisie champions, will face off against Feyenoord, the victors of the KNVB Cup who triumphed over the league champions to secure their title.

Match Preview

PSV Eindhoven demonstrated their dominance throughout the previous Eredivisie season, losing just one of their 34 matches.

They amassed an impressive record of 29 wins and four draws, underscored by a staggering 111 goals scored (an average of 3.3 goals per game) and a mere 21 goals conceded (0.6 goals per game).

The pre-season has been a mixed affair for PSV, with the team registering three wins, one draw, and two losses from June to July.

Nevertheless, they concluded their pre-season friendlies on a high note, securing three victories in their last four games, including a 2-1 win against Valencia.

Feyenoord, on the other hand, remained a competitive force last season, finishing seven points behind PSV with 26 wins, six draws, and two losses. However, their campaign was marked by the departure of manager Arne Slot to Liverpool.

Feyenoord began their pre-season with three consecutive victories over Dordrecht (4-0), Genk (3-1), and Cercle Brugge (1-0).

Their momentum was halted by successive defeats to Benfica (5-0) and Monaco (3-1) as they approach Sunday’s match.

Head-to-Head

PSV have had the upper hand in their Super Cup encounters with Feyenoord, winning three and drawing one of their four meetings since 2008, including a 1-0 victory last year.

Overall, Feyenoord have struggled against PSV, winning just one of their last seven matches across all competitions, while suffering three defeats.

Injury and Suspension

PSV Eindhoven will commence the season without the services of Noa Lang (hamstring) and Sergino Dest (cruciate ligament tear).

Conversely, Feyenoord’s injury list includes Quilindschy Hartman (knee), Quinten Timber (ankle), Gijs Smal (calf), and Gernot Trauner (knock).

Prediction

Although Feyenoord showed resilience against PSV last season, the Eredivisie champions are anticipated to narrowly prevail in Sunday’s contest.

It is predicted that PSV Eindhoven will secure a narrow 1 nil win, ultimately lifting the Super Cup trophy.
