Adrien Rabiot has extended an invitation to his former Juventus and France teammate Paul Pogba to join him at Olympique de Marseille (OM).
Pogba’s future remains uncertain after his four-year doping ban was reduced to 18 months upon appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The reduction means Pogba can return to training in January and resume playing in March 2025.
With his Juventus contract terminated by mutual consent last month, the 31-year-old midfielder is now a free agent and reportedly keen to stay in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
Speaking to L’Équipe, Rabiot, who joined OM on a free transfer in September, said: “I would like to play with Paul. We’re inviting him to come and play for OM […] if he wants to come, it would be a pleasure.”
Rabiot and Pogba have played together for both the French national team and Juventus, though injuries limited their time on the pitch as club teammates.
Whether Pogba accepts Rabiot’s invitation and if OM make a formal approach for the France international remains to be seen. However, the prospect of the two midfielders linking up at the Ligue 1 club has already generated excitement among fans.
