And at first, I was selfishly excited – I love combing through sale spreadsheets! Sharing deals with y’all gives me a dopamine boost! – but after poring over the 150,000 items included in this sale, I gotta be honest: it’s pretty underwhelming. Sure, there are some splashy, show-stopping deals – half-priced Roombas, deeply-discounted Airpods, and the like – but the home offerings were fairly sparse or really specific (like a twin-sized air mattress shaped like a 1950s car. You know, in case you’re in the market.)
But then, it clicked: Prime Big Deal Day (henceforth known as PBDD from here on out, FYI) isn’t supposed to be a huge sale on splurge-worthy pieces: it’s kind of like a Black Friday for essentials. This is the one category where I’ll stand corrected: PBDD is crushing in the beauty department.
